JEE Advanced Exam – IIT JEE

Pattern and Eligibility of the IIT JEE

  • One entrance exam for admission to IITs, NITs and IIITs.
  • The new JEE will consist of 2 Tests viz. Main Test and Advanced Test which will test problem solving ability in basic science subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • JEE-Main Test Consists of 25 questions (20-SCQ + 5 Integer Type) of each Subject.
  • JEE-ADVANCE Test Consists of two Paper each of 3 hours. Number of question and pattern is not fix.
  • Only the Top 2,20,000 candidates (including all categories) based on performance in JEE (Mains) will qualify to appear in the JEE (Advanced) examination, which will rank candidates for admissions to IITs, provided the candidates are among the top 20% high scorers of their respective boards or more than 75% in class XII examination.
  • Candidates who join any of the IITs, IIT-BHU, Varanasi, and ISM Dhanbad through JEE will not be permitted to appear for JEE in future.
  • Maximum number of attempt for JEE-Main are 3 and that of JEE ADVANCE are 2.

JEE Advanced Cut-off Rank 2017

For admissions into prestigious colleges like IITs and ISM, JEE Advanced 2017 cut-off ranks will be declared by JoSAA (The Joint Seat Allocation Authority ) at the time of counselling. Rank wise Cut-offs will be soon disclosed by all IITs. However, students can go through JEE Advanced 2016 rank wise cut-offs to have an understanding about admissions in different IITs.
